Down to the deck
Before anything new goes on, the old roof comes completely off — every shingle, every nail, down to the bare wood. Here's what that looks like on a typical Treasure Valley replacement.
Step by step
We get on your roof, measure it, check the decking and layers underneath, and hand you a written scope with photo documentation — plus an honest ballpark of what a full replacement runs in the Treasure Valley.
We pull all required city permits, order your Owens Corning shingle system, and deliver a dumpster and materials to your property — your yard, plants, and driveway get tarped and protected first.
The old roof comes completely off — every layer, every shingle, every nail pulled (never pounded back in). Anything rotten or soft in the deck gets repaired or replaced before anything new goes on.
Order matters here. New drip edge is installed along the eaves first, then self-sealing ice-and-water membrane is applied over the drip edge and up the eaves — typically 3 feet minimum, past the interior wall line — so water can't wick back under the metal. The same membrane goes in every valley and around every penetration before we move on.
Drip edge goes on the rakes next (over the membrane so runoff sheds onto it), then synthetic underlayment covers the full deck, and starter-course shingles are laid at the eaves — the layered, shingle-fashion sequence that stops wind-driven water and wind-lift at the roof's most exposed lines.
Your Owens Corning shingles go on with correct nail placement, pattern, and exposure — exactly to manufacturer specification, which is what activates the strongest warranty coverage.
Brand-new flashing at every chimney, valley, and penetration, new pipe boots and vents, and a sealed ridge cap across the peak — the finishing details that decide whether a roof lasts 15 years or 30.
