The panel, in detail

Why we chose N-Type bifacial.

Most panels sold today use older P-Type cell technology. The HD Hyundai HiN-T440NF(BK) runs N-Type TOPCon cells — a premium architecture that degrades slower, tolerates heat better, and keeps producing when conditions aren't perfect.

<1%

First-year degradation

N-Type cells break in far slower than standard panels — year one output loss stays under 1%, then continues at a trickle. A 25-year-old system still produces strong, sellable power.

2-sided

Bifacial glass face

The module captures light on both faces. Reflected light off snow, bright roof surfaces, and sky adds real output — especially valuable through Idaho's long winters.

All-black

Sleek enough for your HOA

Black cells on a black backsheet with a black frame — the panel reads as part of the roofline, not an add-on. No visible silver grid, no blue glitter.

Heat-safe

Strong hot-weather performance

July roof surface temperatures punish cheap panels. N-Type TOPCon holds its voltage in heat, so your worst weeks of the year — the expensive ones — produce the most.

Low-light

Performs on gray days

Overcast Treasure Valley mornings still make power. Higher low-light response means the system starts earlier and finishes later each day than conventional modules.

Tier-1

Bankable manufacturer

HD Hyundai is a global Tier-1 manufacturer with the balance sheet to stand behind its warranties — 25 years product, 30 years performance. Your warranty outlives most roof shingles.

The full system

Panels are half the story — here's the rest.

A solar roof is a system: mounting, wiring, power conversion, and monitoring. We spec each piece like the panel itself — no mystery hardware, no corner-cutting.

Inverters & power conversion

Every system includes modern inverter technology that converts panel output into clean household power — installed and commissioned by Black Diamond Electric, a master electrician.

Roof-integrated mounting

Racking is flashed like a roof penetration, not caulked like an afterthought — because a roofer, not a solar sales company, is putting the holes in your roof.

Monitoring app

Watch every panel's production from your phone, hour by hour. If something underperforms, you'll see it — and so will we.

Optional battery backup

Want power through an outage? We can design battery storage into your system so essential circuits keep running when the grid goes down.

Critter & weather guard

Panel edges get screened to keep birds, squirrels, and debris from nesting under your array — protecting wiring and roof at the same time.

Roof care under the array

We inspect and, where needed, repair the roof surface before a single panel goes down — solar over a failing roof is money poured on a problem.

Solar facts & questions

Straight answers about going solar in Idaho.

No hype, no fine print — just the things homeowners actually ask us.

  • Idaho averages 200+ sunny days a year — among the best solar windows in the country.
  • Cold, sunny winter days can be a solar panel's best day — efficiency rises as temperatures drop.
  • The federal solar tax credit covers 30% of a qualifying system — your tax professional confirms your eligibility.
  • Utility policies (like net metering and interconnection) vary by provider — we verify your utility's current rules before you commit to anything.
  • Quality panels carry no moving parts — maintenance is mostly keeping the surface clean and the monitoring app green.
Will solar damage my roof?
Not when it's done by roofers. We're a roofing company first — mounting points are flashed and sealed the way we'd handle a chimney or vent, and the roof under your array gets inspected (and repaired if needed) before installation. The panels can even shield that section of shingles from sun and hail wear.
What happens on cloudy days or at night?
Production drops when the sun does — that's normal for every solar home. You stay connected to the grid, so your house draws utility power at night and on gray stretches. Your assessment models actual year-round production, not just the sunny days.
How long does a system last?
The HD Hyundai panels carry a 25-year product warranty and a 30-year performance warranty — and N-Type cells degrade so slowly that a decades-old system still produces the vast majority of its day-one output. Inverters are typically the first component serviced, and they're easily replaced.
What if I sell my house?
Solar homes routinely sell faster and for more — buyers see locked-in low electric bills as a feature. We'll walk you through how ownership, transfer, and appraisals work before you ever sign.
Do panels survive hail and snow?
Yes — modules are tested against hail impact and heavy snow load, and Idaho installs are engineered for local codes. Snow slides off tilted all-black panels quickly, and bifacial glass actually harvests the light reflecting off the snow.
How do I know what size system I need?
That's the free assessment. We look at your actual usage, your utility's rate structure, your roof's orientation and shading, and your goals — then design a system sized to your home, not to a sales quota.
One stop. Roofing + solar.

We're the best fit for your roof AND your panels.

Solar companies install panels on roofs they'll never see again. Roofing companies won't touch a roof with solar on it. We do both — under one warranty

The problem

Two companies, zero accountability.

When a solar crew drills through your roof and it leaks two winters later, the roofer blames the solar company and the solar company blames the roofer. You're the one stuck paying for the repair.

Our approach

 Everything done right.

Roofed and inspected by a professional roofer. Permitted and installed by a master electrician. Nothing slips between two contractors' schedules.

The payoff

Your roof warranty survives solar.

We can still warranty the roof with solar installed on top of it — mounts, flashing and all. Try getting that promise from a solar-only outfit or a roofer who won't work around panels.

How going solar actually works.

Six steps, one crew. You always know what's happening next — and nothing gets signed until you've seen real numbers for your home.

Free assessment on your roof

We visit, inspect the roof surface, read your actual energy use and utility bill — not a generic calculator — and answer every question you have.

Roof inspection & readiness

A professional roofer certifies the roof is sound enough to carry panels for decades. If anything needs repair or replacement first, we handle it — under one crew.

Custom system design

We map your roof's orientation, shading and usable space, then design a system sized to your home and your goals — with the HD Hyundai all-black panel throughout.

Straight cost proposal

You get a full written proposal: system size, expected production, annual savings, total cost, financing options and the 30% federal tax credit — line by line, no surprises.

Permits & scheduling

Once you approve, we pull the city/county permit and schedule the install. You don't fill out forms or chase the utility — we do the paperwork.

Install, inspect, power on

Master electricians from Black Diamond Electric complete the wiring, the city inspects it, and your power provider — Idaho Power or your utility — gives final approval. Then the switch goes on.
